The best way to get to the Taj Mahal will depend, to a large extent, on which point of the country you reach on your trip. Agra has an airport, although there are not many flights that land in Agra, so they can be expensive and difficult to find. However, if you fly to New Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi or Khajurao, some of the most well-known cities in the country, it will be easy to get to Agra on a domestic plane.

The train is one of the best options, not only for its price, but because while you travel you can see the local Indian landscape and connect with culture of the country. How to get around the Taj Mahal

This complex is so big that you may not know where to start. When you get to the Taj Mahal you will see that there are several tickets that can be accessed:

The southern entrance: it is obviously oriented to the south and faces Mumtazabad. It is not the most chosen as you have to wander through Agra to discover it but it will be a great option if there is a queue in the other entrances. Few know this access.

The East entrance:  is, next to the previous one, the one furthest from the monument. Fatehabad is oriented and is the access from which to see the show when there is a full moon.

The West entrance: it is the main entrance and, therefore, in which more tail you will find, but the easiest to find. You can walk or tuk-tuk to the door.

Once inside the enclosure you will reach the inner courtyard and the Darwaza, a building built in red sandstone from which you can see the longed for mausoleum. Stop to observe all the details of this small monument.

Once you have crossed it, the white marble will seem even more impressive than you could have imagined. However, if you stop to look at it at different times you will see that it changes color.
